Twentysix Dunkin’ Donuts
Twentysix Dunkin’ Donuts. 2016-2018. Artist’s book.
This project started out as a class assignment in which I was tasked with making a series of eight photos based on the work of a famous photographer— in my case, Ed Ruscha’s Twentysix Gasoline Stations. Poking fun at their abundance in Rhode Island, my series featured photos of Dunkin’ Donuts rather than gas stations. About a year after this assignment, I turned the series into a booklet titled Eight Dunkin’ Donuts and presented it during my Junior Review. However, I was not entirely satisfied with the booklet containing only eight photos. During my senior year, I shot photos of eighteen more Dunkin’ Donuts around Rhode Island to bring the total up to twenty-six.
